With the conclusion of the 9th assembly today, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Almighty Allah, my party (APC), party leaders, party members, and the wonderful people of Eti-Osa for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve. I am immensely grateful to the House leadership and my esteemed colleagues for fostering a conducive and collaborative environment.
Despite the unprecedented challenges, particularly the Covid-19 pandemic, we have achieved remarkable milestones. Several long-awaited bills, including the Police Act, PIB Act, Customs Act, Insurance Act, Electoral Act, and many others, have been successfully enacted. Numerous motions have propelled our country on the path of progress, such as the Barracks renovation motion and the evacuation of abandoned planes from our airports. Our oversight functions have been commendable, as I travelled across the country to ensure the proper execution of budgetary allocations.
Representing our great nation abroad has been a privilege, and I have taken great pride in showcasing Nigeria as a brand worthy of envy. The numerous human capital projects, particularly empowerment initiatives, and infrastructural developments like roads, solar street lights, and transformers, that I have facilitated in Eti Osa Federal Constituency are second to none. I am immensely proud of my unblemished reputation, and as I bid farewell to the National Assembly, I eagerly look forward to serving in any capacity that destiny may present. Rest assured, my unwavering commitment remains dedicated to fostering a better Nigeria where the system works in our favour.
I only hope our constituency continues to soar higher under whoever is placed to serve here.
As I retreat to reflect and plan for the future, I kindly request that you remember my family and I in your prayers.
Best regards,
Your Neighbour,
Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro (MHR)
