Rep. Obanikoro Empowers Constituents with Sewing Machines, Hair Dryers, Catering Equipment, and others; Launches Free School Ride

In his bid to make sure that most unemployed youths of his constituency acquire vocational skills and be productive, the Lawmaker representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro (IBO) has, on Monday, empowered no fewer than 100 members of his constituency with vocational training tools such as hair-dryers, sewing machines, make-up kits, and catering equipment.

Recall that the beneficiaries had earlier been enrolled in vocational training on catering, cosmetology and fashion design courtesy of Rep. Obanikoro and Fatima Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro (FIBO) Foundation, a foundation established by the lawmaker and his wife.

The day also featured the launching of a free school bus to convey school children within his constituency to and fro their schools.

Rep. Obanikoro expressed his happiness for the success of the training program, despite the downturns of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While charging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the equipment, Obanikoro assured other members of his constituency see the gesture as the beginning of more good things to come in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.

He also seized the medium to give an account of his stewardship in the House thus far. He highlighted some of the pending projects in the constituency such as the ongoing road and drainage construction at Sola Omole Extension in Ado, and the construction of two primary healthcare centers in Lafiaji and Lafiaji Phase One. He mentioned some of his pending bills in the House too. He was, however, optimistic that by January 2022, he would be glad to come and give feedback that the projects have been completed and handed over to the appropriate authorities, while also reporting the progress of the pending bills.

He appreciated constituents and everyone present at the occasion for continuously supporting and charging him to do more for the people.

Chairman, Eti-Osa West LCDA, Hon. Saheed Bankole in his remark appreciated the effort of Rep. Obanikoro for ensuring that the dividends of democracy reached the people at the grassroots.

One of the beneficiaries, Oluwakemi Obasanu, appreciated and commended the lawmaker for keeping to his promise. She prayed that God would give him the strength to be able to do more for the people.

The ceremony was well attended by political bigwigs in Eti-Osa and Lagos State in general, traditional rulers, residents associations, and artisans.
