On Wednesday 3rd November, Rep. Obanikoro joined the House of Representatives Committee on Air Force on an oversight visit to the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, Abuja, where we met with the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
The Committee expressed satisfaction with the Air Force for doing so much in the areas of capacity building, weapon development, and research, adding that it will do everything possible to ensure the Nigerian Air Force succeeds in maintaining our territorial integrity.
The Committee also promised to raise the budget of the Nigerian Air Force, as it commended the efforts of the Chief of Air Staff in the battle against terrorism in the country.
Rep. Obanikoro seized the opportunity to raise the issue of the dilapidated condition of LEGICO barracks, located at the 055 Nigerian Air Force Camp in Victoria Island. I appealed to the Air Force Chief to make a spontaneous move towards rehabilitating the facility.
The Chief of Air Staff thanked members of the Committee for commending the efforts of the Air Force as he took time to explain the force’s achievements in the last five years.
