OPEN LETTER TO MY DEAR CONSTITUENTS

OPEN LETTER TO MY DEAR CONSTITUENTS

Dear constituents,

I have watched with dismay, in recent times, the flagrant disregard for law and order on our roads in Eti-Osa which has led to unbearable gridlock.

The recent increase in the activities of motorcyclists (okada riders) and the gridlock experience within our dear constituency have been worrisome and portend great danger to the orderliness and safety of motorists plying our roads.

Recall that the ban on motorcycles (okada) and tricycles (keke) is still effective in the state, especially on major roads in Eti-Osa. Therefore, I urge the riders to shun further breakdown of this law for the good of our dear constituency and Lagos State in general.

I understand the urgent need for alternative means of transportation, going by the setbacks experienced in public transportation as a result of the recent incidents in the state. Kindly bear with the government while they put in place the needed infrastructure to address the pressing need in this regard.

Pending this resolve, I urge motorists to be mindful and watchful on the road. The long time we spend in a traffic jam can be reduced if we all drive in accordance with traffic laws.

I am optimistic about a better situation, especially with the reconstruction and expansion of different roads in the state.

Please, drive carefully and obey traffic law.

Sincerely,

Rep. Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro.
